We take our environmental responsibilities seriously at Bradford West and are actively involved in the following projects:

Collecting used ink jet cartridges for recycling which benefits Martin House hospice and Manorlands hospice.

Collecting used Christmas cards for recycling for the benefit of the Woodland Trust

Annual autumn bulb planting in Thornton Road mainly from Leaventhorpe to Spring Head. This has assisted “Thornton in Bloom” to gain many awards over the past four years.

Organising tree planting in local schools funded by the Woodland Trust’s Jubilee Woods project to mark the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.

These inkjet cartridges could have a second life as a clothes hanger or a roof tile, or they could be refilled with ink. It is estimated that 375 million inkjet cartridges get thrown out each year. Recycling cartridges cuts down on landfill waste and plastic production.
